u have to hand it to big B when it comes to discovering himself with each film but even the great bachchan could not have imagined that he would have to play the role of a progeria-stricken young(old) man, a total departure from the genre that actors of his age would do. Yet adman balki's faith in his star has not been bellied nd the thespian turns in a sterling performance and though vidya balan and abhishek bachchan have also turned up trumps, 'Paa' is amitabh's show all the way. The film has its lighter moments too but bachchan slips into the role with consummate ease and reveals a whole gamut of emotions that tug at ur heartstrings. The delight 'Auro'(amitabh's character),his mother and abhishek's enstranged wife vidya balan share an emotional bond but a chance encounter with his biological father leads to his life turning full circle. Balki, in just second film after 'cheenikum' proves himself a master of the craft with his brilliant directorial touches that enable the film to maintain its tempo right through.
