The music of the film goes exactly opposite to the film title. ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ has songs filled with immense romance. It has come from the big banner Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and the music of which never dissatisfied his listeners. The music of IHLS very well reflects the love of the two young hearts, Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan. Composed by Vishal-Shekhar and lyrics penned by Kumaar, Anvita Dutt and Vishal Dadlani, the music has altogether seven songs including remixes. The film looks refreshing and so is the music of the film. It will definitely charm the young generation.
The album opens with ‘Jab Mila Tu’ by Vishal Dadlani. The song has a youth feeling. The instrumentation is very light and delightful and it will go very well with the new generation. The lyric is mesmerizing and Vishal’s voice goes well with the song. It will make its place on the romantic numbers.
The second track goes as ‘Bin Tere’ sung beautifully by Shafqat Amanat Ali and Sunidhi Chauhan. This song has two versions, a remix and reprised version. It is a blend of English and Hindi lyrics. It is one of the best tracks of the album. The song has all the ingredients to hit the chartbuster. Its remix version is a foot-tapping number very well sung by Vishal Shekhar. The song has a soothing feeling and will have a positive impact in the film. No sooner you will play the track, you will be blown away.
The third song sounds ‘Bahara’ sung by versatile Sunidhi Chauhan and Sona Mahapatra. Undoubtedly, it is picturized on Sonam Kapoor. It is a blend of folk and modern music. It seems a gang of girls having fun. The song is melodious and is a treat for the ears. It's another version is called the ‘Chill’ version sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It has a classical touch which is lovely to hear. It has a chilling effect.
Last but not the least comes ‘Sadka’. It has a feel good effect beautifully sung by Suraj Jagan and Mahalakshmi Iyer. It starts with a slow pace but soon becomes faster.
On the whole, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ is an album made with love. It is an album worth buying and listening. Vishal-Shekhar scores high in this album.
